Girl's Summit Inspires on March 22


Workshops on African drumming, card making, yoga and more offered to young women


Deschutes County Oregon -- February 25, 2010 11:20 AM --

The Fourth-Annual South County Girl’s Summit promises to be a day of fun and exciting activities for young women on Monday, March 22. The goal of the event is to empower South County women in Middle and High School through positive, healthy activities that are also available in their home setting. An additional event goal is to mentor young women through adult females in their community.

 

The South County Girl’s Summit will be held Monday, March 22 from 8:15 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. at La Pine High School, 51633 Coach Road in La Pine. The event includes gift giveaways, snacks and a free lunch for attendees.

The Girl’s Summit is sponsored by Think Again Parents (TAPs) Substance Abuse Prevention Team of South County, Deschutes County Juvenile Community Justice Department and the American Association of University Women (www.aauw.org/).
