On 1-10-08 the Planning Commission voted 6-1 to recommend that the Board of County Commissioners approve this project with 5 added conditions intended to limit somewhat the scale of development. Their recommendation also included some technical changes and the changes offered by the applicant in their memo of 12-28-07. The exact details of the Planning Commission recommendation will be posted when the minutes of the meeting are completed

Two public hearings have been scheduled
- The first will be April 9 from 5:30-8:30 p.m. This will be in the Deschutes Services Center in Bend and is intended to allow the Board of County Commissioners to hear from staff and the applicant. There may not be an opportunity for public comment.
- The second will be April 30 from 6-9 p.m. This will be in the Homestead Building in Sunriver and is intended to allow the public to provide testimony. Note: this hearing has been moved to the Great Hall at the same address.

Board of County Commissioners Public Hearing Continued 4-30-2008
The Board of County Commissioners continued the April 30 public hearing until Wednesday, June 4, at 10 a.m., at the Board Hearing Room in the Deschutes Services Center, 1300 NW Wall St, Bend Oregon, because of their understanding that the current proposal will be amended. On June 4, the Board will hear testimony only on the new amendments to the proposal. Also at that time, the Board will determine if the latest amendments are substantial enough to require another hearing before the Planning Commission or a joint hearing with the Planning Commission.
When the amendments are received by the County, they will be posted on this website and soon after a staff report will be prepared that highlights the differences between the current proposal and the amended proposal.

Board of County Commissioners Public Hearing continued 6-4-2008
Board of County Commissioners Public Hearing continued 6-25-2008 at 10am
At the hearing on June 4 the Board of County Commissioners directed staff to work with the applicant on a final version of these proposed plan and text amendments. If there are areas where staff and the applicant disagree, staff will present two versions of the proposal. The starting point is the revised language that can be found above dated May 2 and May 16. The final language will be posted on the website when it is completed. At the continued hearing of June 25, the Board will take testimony only on the revised language.

Public hearing and written record are now closed
The Board of County Commissioners closed the public hearing and written record at the end of their meeting on 6-25-08. They requested staff to add language to the text requiring an application for a zone change to Town Center to include a signed copy of a development agreement between the property owner and the homeowners association. With that change, the Board requested that the ordinance be brought back for a vote on 6-30-08.
