Food Program Resources

Deschutes County has over 600 restaurants and other food preparation facilities that require semi-annual inspections. Environmental Health Specialists also complete semi-annual inspections of over 200 public pools and spas in the County.

The Environmental Health Specialists' primary job is to minimize or eliminate potentially harmful situations in public places and to contain and stop the spread of diseases if and when they occur. Through education and routine inspections, environmental health staff hope to make Deschutes County a safe and healthy place for residents and guests to enjoy.

If you have questions or concerns about Septic Systems, please refer to the Environmental Soils Division at 541-388-6575.
